Nordica Plastics Ltd. is a family run business with a long history in Mississauga, Ontario that started with a dream of a young toolmaker straight out of his apprenticeship and the unfettered support of a father who believed in his son’s ability to make that dream come to fruition. Together Carmine Santarelli and his late father, Giovanni Santarelli, took a leap together and founded their initial company, Nordica Moulds Manufacturing Inc. in 1984, specializing in plastic injection mould making and operating out of a modest 2,200 sq. ft manufacturing unit.
As their client base rapidly increased in those initial years, with that came an expressed need from those clients to provide manufacturing services beyond simply creating the moulds. To address that need, in 1988, Carmine and his father purchased their first injection moulding machine which allowed them to expand the services they were able to provide to their clients. Subsequently, Nordica Plastics Ltd. was formed in 1989 providing a full range of services under one roof.
Today, out of their 20,000sq ft. facility, Nordica Plastics Ltd. not only manufactures products for a wide range of clientele but also manufactures their own products, all of which have been invented in-house by Carmine Santarelli. With the launch of Nordica’s own product line in 2017, the Detail Guardz, they’ve since received global recognition and now distribute their products worldwide. In 2020 Nordica Plastics Ltd. was the recipient of the coveted SEMA Global Media Product Award for their “Dirt Lock Pad Washer”.
